Earring holder

My future sister-in-law mentioned she kept losing her earrings because she had no where to keep them so I decided to make her an earring holder.

First, I went to my local thrift store and purchased 4 frames for $1 each.
(I was making 4 earring holders.)

Then I took the glass, contents, and back off and spray painted all of the frames white.

I chose frames that had cool textures so once they were white they were gorgeous!

Next, I went to Lowes and purchased a replacement screen for a screen door.  You don't need much, but it comes in a huge roll.  I suggest asking your friends to participate in this project with you so you can split the cost, and the roll.  Still, the roll I got was only around $8 so it wasn't too expensive.

I cut the screen to size so it fit perfectly in the frame.
Next I laid the screen in the frame and hot glued it into place.
I cut fabric the same size, and hot glue gunned that into place next.  (Only gluing the edges)

Once it was finished I just added the earrings!  You can hang the dangly earrings through the wire mesh, or poke the posts all the way through.

  1. I love this! I did one once and used long pins with pearls at the end to hold the jewelry.

  2. This is such a cute idea and it is so adorable in person :) I don't wear earrings much but I might make one anyway because it is so cute. I especially love the way you spray painted those frames and that they were so cheap!
