I loved this activity as a kid! It's a perfect winter activity for kids.
Just make up a batch of royal icing and buy a couple of boxes of sugar cubes and you're set! I cut up an old wipes box and covered each side with aluminum foil for the base.
I start off doing a horseshoe shape, and then build up and slightly in. Then I do an arch doorway on a flat surface and add lots of frosting. I let it dry and then stand it up to the door...and frosting in place of course.
I make the roof on a flat surface as well, making sure to use a lot of frosting and let dry completely before adding it to your structure.
Lily wasn't quite old enough to appreciate it this year, so I invited my nephews and brother-in-law and sister-in-laws over for the fun. They all loved it. I think this may be a tradition we do every year!
